ANC Awards 2015
Mason UK sponsored the 2015 Acoustics and Noise Consultants awards, for the category of Vibration. We spent an enjoyable day at the awards which highlighted the impressive range of design and research carried out by member consultancies.
Bob Pratt from Mason UK presented the awards, hosted by Philippa Forrester.
The winner of the vibration category was Hoare Lea Acoustics, for their work in an advisory Role to the Gym Group. This involved the development of a pioneering technique to predict impact transmission through an existing structure using relatively simple test methods.
WSP|Parsons Brinkerhoff won the highly commended award, for their work on Hertsmere House, Canary Wharf. This involved impressive collaboration with other stakeholders to predict transmission of railway vibration prior to construction of this new development.
SRL Technical Services won the commended award for their work on the London Crossrail, Eastern Tunnels. Not only did this involve development of a prediction technique showing where the works would cause a noise problem but also the design of a practical rail isolation system.
